Extended Service Coverage comes in various levels with a wide range of time and mileage terms are available. Choose the one that is right for you:
COVERAGE FOR NEW ENGINES
Major Components is a basic ESC plan that provides coverage on 11 key components. For customers that prefer a low cost long-term protection plan that includes 100% parts and labor and no deductibles, this ESC plan offers great value.
ESC is a broader coverage than Major Component Coverage. For customers looking for a wide range of time and mileage terms, this plan provides coverage on more than 28 components.

ESC Plus offers a broader coverage than Major Components. For customers looking for a wide-range of time and mileage terms, this plan provides coverage on more than 40 components. For ultimate peace-of-mind, with ESC plus, you may also select coverage for the water pump, turbocharger(s) and/or injectors (up to 500,000 miles).
Maintenance Components Package is an ESC plan that provides coverage on the water pump, turbocharger(s) and injectors. For customers who accumulate miles quickly and trade their trucks often, we offer a Maintenance Components Package (available as a stand-alone-plan) that can extend your protection on these components up to 500,000 miles. Coverage terms range from 36 to 120 months and up to 700,000 miles depending on the engine model and application.
*Towing ESC is an available coverage that provides reasonable and customary towing to the nearest authorized repair facility for an ESC covered engine failure. To purchase Towing ESC you must also have ESC Plus, Major Component Coverage or Maintenance Component Protection.
Towing ESC is available up to 5 years or 500,000 miles.
COVERAGE FOR USED ENGINES
Advantage Plus/Acertify ESC is for used CAT engines. These programs cover 100% of the parts and labor for covered repairs due to defects in materials and factory workmanship. More than 40 components are covered in the Advantage Plus plan, including towing. Acertify provides the same coverage as Advantage Plus, including additional components on engines that qualify for the program. These coverage programs are available for heavy-duty and medium-duty engines.
Overhaul Protection for Truck Engines (OPT) is an Extended Service Coverage (ESC) program from Caterpillar that provides coverage on CAT engine components that either pass inspection or are replaced at the time of an overhaul performed at an authorized Caterpillar full service location. OPT covers 100% of parts and labor for covered component repairs due to defects in materials, factory and Dealer workmanship.
Towing coverage is also available with OPT. Towing coverage must be purchased with an OPT coverage term and must match the OPT coverage term.
ADDITIONAL COVERAGE OPTIONS
Component Plus ESC provides 100% of parts and labor charges for "covered" component failures. Coverage is available for up to four years with no mileage or hour limitations on qualified components that are purchased at an authorized CAT dealer. Coverage is available on qualified parts for both heavy and medium-duty engines.
